Melissa Tan

Melissa Tan (b. 1989, Singapore) is a visual artist based in Singapore. Melissa’s creative interests have always been guided by a fascination with nature and different ways of mapping and contextualising. Her recent projects explore the poetics of moving space objects and the resonance of classical myths and stories.

She received her BA (Fine Arts) from LASALLE College of the Arts in 2011. To date, Melissa has participated in six solo and numerous group exhibitions including a recent presentation at Art SG 2023. She was the youngest artist in the 2016 edition of the Singapore Biennale: An Atlas of Mirrors and participated in several overseas exhibitions and residencies including, the Chatou, IIle des impressionists in France, Strarta Art Fair, Saatchi Gallery in London, and the National Arts Council’s Dena Foundation Artist Residency Programme in France. Her work is included in the public collections of Singapore Art Museum (SAM), Marina Bay Sands (Singapore), Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) (New York), Meta (Singapore), and CapitaLand (Singapore).
